Frequently asked questions - models

alternative models

We get a lot of requests and queries from models regarding features so we thought it was best to answer your questions and queries regarding models in Alt Fashion, sort of a handy reference guide for models interested in getting involved with us!

Please note: as we have closed our magazine we are no longer booking in models for cover slots or photo shoot spreads.

How can we help models?

We regularly share images from alternative photoshoots on our Facebook and Tumblr pages, if you'd like us to share a recent shoot that you've done simply send us the low res (web res) images that you'd like us to share, along with the full image credits (photographer, make up artists, designer etc..) for us to include. We will only publish images that we have full credits for, as well as the required permission from all parties involved to publish the image on our site.

If you've recently shot for a new alternative company or designer, or you've shot some new designs for a company that you think would be of interest to us, please feel free to forward their details to us for us to check out. We do like to promote new items, and upcoming designers on the site, so you never know we may publish your photos as part of a feature on their work!

You've used an image of mine that I'd now like removed from the site/changed to a different image.

At any time that you decide you no longer want a past image shown online we can understand that you'd like it removed as swiftly as possible, simply contact us regarding the image removal, or replacement, and we'll get it removed as soon as is possible.

I've been featured a past issue of the magazine do I get a free copy?

As we ceased publishing our magazine we do not send out free copies of back issues, you should have received access details for your free digital edition at the time of publishing (only applies to issues after #18 when we went digital), otherwise please contact us for a tear sheet.

As I was featured in a past issue can I get a tear sheet?

Yes, we will gladly provide tear sheets when requested for features. However as we are often busy at times please allow up to 48-72 hours for us to get back to you with your tear sheet(s).

How do I get in touch with you?

Simply send us an email to info[at] and we'll get back to you, during busy periods or when we are away this may take 2-3 days for us to get back to you.

It helps us if you include a few details about your modelling work, including portfolio & site links is a great way to do this.

*I've sent you a message but haven't heard anything back.

In this case as mentioned above it can take us longer than normal to reply back during a busy period, or a holiday so please bare with us when responding to your message. Alt Fashion is essentially a one woman run operation, with occasional email assistance from our advertising assistant so most of the time you'll just be dealing with the editor, so please bare this in mind when waiting for a response.

If however you have not heard from us with 7 days please feel free to contact us again. Alternatively you can CC in our back up address: whenever you email us as this will come through to us.
