Ravina Rapture model

Model feature : Ravina Rapture

Ravina Rapture is a petite alternative model with an impressive portfolio of work, turning her hand to alternative fashion with a look thats certainly all her own.

How did you start modelling? Was it something that you always wanted to do, or did it just 'happen'?

I began modelling aged 18 having met some photographers at the London Xpo. It was most certainly something I have always wanted to do, so I thought I would knock on some doors and see where it led me. I took a break from modelling whilst I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and returned in September 2012.

What drew you towards alternative modeling?

I was specifically drawn toward alternative fashion due to my personal lifestyle. I consider myself alternative, so mainstream fashion just never appealed to me. Alternative fashion really pushes the boundaries of design. It is innovative because the materials used are unique. For instance, I always get that "Oh my god, where did you buy that?!" reaction when I go out in my favourite latex dresses ;)

Do you have any fellow models or heroines who have inspired you?

Ever since I was a teenager, I have really admired the alternative models Ulorin Vex and Threnodyinvelvet. Their work is truly inspirational and gave me the confidence to pursue alternative modelling.

What kind of shoots would you like to work on in the future?

I would like to work on more projects for latex designers and

corsetieres. I would also like to model Indian fashion. They are polar opposites, but encompass my personal areas of interest in fashion, so I would like to develop my work in both areas.

What has been your biggest modelling achievement so far?

Whilst it is great to do photoshoots for your portfolio, it was always my goal to use those photos to catch the attention of designers. So I was really honored to model for Cherry Pop Latex and Oh My Honey in 2012, who both used my images for their respective webstores. I also completed a campaign for Hades Footwear and MsVontoon Steampunk which I am really proud of.

I have some exciting shoots coming up for Lady Allura's Latex and an international shoot for Royal Black Couture, long may it continue!

Are there any companies or designers that you'd like to work with?

I am very keen to work with Violaceous Latex and Arcanum Accessories. I think both designers have really outdone themselves with regards to quality and cutting edge designs.

What are your goals & aspirations for the future?

My aspirations for the immediate future, are to get signed by an alternative fashion agency and to get some editorials under my belt. Wish me luck!
