Model feature : Ewel

Ewel is an alternative model hailing from Slovakia, with an abundance of experience already under her belt taking on a wide range of work from fashion to the catwalk.

How did you start modelling? Was it something that you always wanted to do, or did it just 'happen'?

Well, it is kind of a between "wanted to do" and "just happen" answer. A friend of mine was working on a project and asked me to try to do a shooting with him. The results were over the expectations, good and that made me think of this kind of work a bit more. Most of the people around me were suggesting to me to do commercial modeling, but it wasn't the way I wanted to go. I never felt like standard issue. And I am not 7" tall neither have 50 pounds underweight. (laughing)

What drew you towards alternative modeling?

I never felt like a doll being there only for some hairdressers creative pleasure. I wanted to stay the way I like, the person I am. Not to be only some fake few minutes lasting impression. And I was always into tattoos and piercings. (laughing)

Do you have any fellow models or heroines who have inspired you?

To get to the point of my answer I must first confess that I had never any heroes or role models, not even as an young girl. I was inspired and positively motivated only by my parents and close ones. I don't believe a face in a magazine who you don`t know can be a an inspiration. This is why the answer is "no". There is a lot of talented people out there doing awesome artwork, but I am more of an admirer. On the contrary I consider as heroes all the models who came across Hellmet photography's needle artwork (laugh).

What kind of shoots would you like to work on in the future?

Most of my nowadays work comes from my project "My Deers and Wolf" in which we create mostly artistic advertising products propagation. This is my main *************. Along with that I am also trying to cooperate with new creative people with different styles to keep a touch of diversity in my portfolio.

What has been your biggest modelling achievement so far?

Making my boyfriend very proud of me (laughing out very loud). Now, seriously - my biggest achievements from my point of view so far: being published in Bizarre magazine with a piercing corset few years ago. Then having my photo making it's way to Dark Beauty magazine and having an editorial in a special European issue of Sinical magazine. And the one achievement that I am proud of the most is being the only girl from my country to be member of Nocturnal Agency.

Are there any companies or designers that you'd like to work with?

I do always appreciate working with creative people who know what they are doing, who see the world differently than the masses. If I can say so, I prefer working with artists, not muggles (laugh). For some time now I fancy the artworks of Dracula Clothing, Jane Doe Latex, Aderlass fashion, Drop Dead clothing, MarcusT Photography, Viona Art, Marius Sachtikus photography and many more. Whoever who would like to coop with me is free to message me on my facebook page.

What are your goals & aspirations for the future?

As we are planning to move to the UK after I finish uni I'd appreciate becoming successful there (laugh). In the meanwhile I am having an apprenticeship at my boyfriends tattoo studio so I am working hard to become a good tattoo artist. And the biggest aspiration of all is to keep creative, the worst thing that can happen to people who create is to start taking success for granted and that kills the spirit.
