Ellen Renascentis model

Model feature : Ellen Renascentis

Ellen Renascentis is an alternative model whose work has seen her model for the likes of Apocalypse Girls and Rock radio whilst also working on a varied creative portfolio of work.

How did you start modelling? Was it something that you always wanted to do, or did it just 'happen'?

My friend was a model so I went along to a shoot with her and I went from there, she then came with me to my first shoot.

I always thought I would like to get into it but I never thought I would have the guts to do it!

What drew you towards alternative modeling?

I actually started it because I massively lacked any kind of confidence, it has helped me so much since then. I have gained a lot more confidence from it.

Do you have any fellow models or heroines who have inspired you?

I don't have any one in particular person that has inspired me but when I see my friends that have started from the very beginning that are doing really well, it motivates me to keep on working hard to where I want to be.

What kind of shoots would you like to work on in the future?

I love any kind of theme that really catches your eye. I have recently started to do quite theatrical expressive stuff and I would like to carry on with this. I would also like to so some pin-up as well.

What has been your biggest modelling achievement so far?

I think my first achievement was my best, I entered a competition to be published in a calender for rock radio, there were hundreds of models that entered that got narrowed down to twelve to go in the calender. After the shoot, the listeners of the radio station were then asked to choose their favourite girl from the twelve and I won! I was so happy!

How did you discover your particular interest in alternative fashion?

It is something that gradually happened really, when I was a teenager I would go to town a lot and I would see a lot of alternative people about, I took inspiration from the way they dressed and eventually developed my own style.

Are there any companies or designers that you'd like to work with?

I would love to work with Kitty Creme clothing! I think her creations are amazing!

What are your goals & aspirations for the future?

I would like to get some publications in magazines like Kultur and I would also like to start doing some catwalk work for alternative fashion shows.
