’07 has been a mixed year for fashion in the alternative scene. From the huge boom that was New rave to the continued expansion of Emo.

Emo
Emo seems to be one of those confusing new trends to some, what
with swarms of 'emo kids' in your town center in their armies of skinny jeans
& panic at the disco tees but thats quite confusingly the same as a scenester
in some cases. more >>>
Goth
Probably
the most sterotyped 'genre' you'll find. Goth's are more notorious as the
'scapegoat' of the alternative scene nowadays but whats associated as 'goth'
in popular culture nowadays is far from goth itself. more >>>
ScenesterAlt Fashion attempts to 'decifer' what the hell a scenester
is.
It's one of those recent 'terms' that you've probably heard
used to describe the kids who live on 'my space' but it's literally much more
than that. As I try to get to grips with the 'young un's' & this latest
alternative-esque trend heres a 'decifered' attempt to properly explain a
'scenester' to the UK population.

Cyber The exact 'origins' of the term 'cyber' aren't
exactly known, depending on where you look some would state it's referring
to rpg others would state it goes back to 'cyberpunk'. The cyber(goth) style
as a fashion does appear to have come about in the 90's.

you probably think of a kinderwhore the two most infamous ladies that pop
into your head would be

Bjelland, but the look is much more than the style that was worn by them
both back in the 90's it's still being worn by today

Gothic lolitaGothic
lolita started on the streets of Japan. With girls dressing in a similar style
to their favourite j rock stars, resembling victorian dolls with their frilly
dresse's, frilled socks, & mary janes. Not to be confused with the kinderwhore
look of course.

Japanese street fashion certainly wouldn’t be where it was today without fashion’s
various styles throughout the years.
You can see elements of Victorian, new romantic, punk, and goth clothing.
Of course the Japanese have added their own twist to this and created styles even more original than they were in the
first place.
