Glam

Nowadays glam would be defined in many terms from glamourous elaborate outfits, glam tacky chic & metallic spangley outfits. Only the latter term really plays a part to it's original roots but it can still be seen in all definitions of glam today.

Glam in the true alternative sense started out from the inspiring outfits in the 70's of glam rock acts. From the feather boas & glittery make up of Marc Bolan, the metallic neon outfits of Ziggy Stardust (thats Mr David Bowie to us folks nowadays) & the over the top outfits & hair of The sweet.

These would of course be the UK examples of glam to go even further afield you would also include the over the top glam make up & silver (but oh so 'manly' of course) outfits worn by Kiss.

Glam has taken a chance of pace in the last decade or so with the re-interpretation of tacky but glamourous chic adorned by the likes of Kenickie & Manic street preachers. With charity shop chic leopardprint, feather boas, glitter & the occasional cheap babycham for good measure.

But nowadays you can find glam at home from the elegantly glam gothic attire of companies such as Fairy goth mother with their elegant corsets and accessories.

To the vintage second hand chic glam from the vast amount of UK vintage shops & sites. Not forgetting the original glam stance of boas & glitter which you can comfortably find with the likes of Manic panic's boas, glittery make up & eye gems.

Glam may have changed slightly but the original influences still remain and besides there is something oh so glamorous in the fluffy second hand leopardprint coats & boa combination.
