City feature: Manchester
With a thriving alternative scene & vast amount of shops, Manchester has quite a lot to offer any visitor to the area.
Manchester's alternative scene shop wise has quite a varied amount of shops. From cyber to skater to pagan to retro you'll find something your bound to like. The most commonly known shops being Afflecks palace situated in the Northern quarter of the city.
Manchester is also home to alot of alternative clubs & nights such as Jilly's rockworld, Implant, Satans hollow, Rock kitchen, Sin city & Killing fantasy to name a few.
I took to the streets of Manchester to document the alternative scene.
Afflecks palace, Church street.

Afflecks palace has been open for the past 20 years as a place for people to find more unusual & unique clothing in Manchester.
Intending to be a place for independant shops and individuals to find & stock items far more interesting than the generic high street stores you find everywhere.
You can find pretty much everything & anything in Afflecks from retro to vintage to skater wear to goth to punk

to rockabilly to unique items to fetish to even just weird & wonderful gifts.
You can also do more than just shopping in Afflecks, you can find hairdresser's catering for dreads to coloured streaks on the 2nd floor, a tarot reader on the 1st floor & the 'top cafe' on the 4th floor because when you've walked up that much you'll need a sit down!
Some featured shops you may enjoy in Afflecks include:

American Graffiti: on the 3rd floor, walk through rowfers past the tights section & you'll find this place. Stocking vintage & retro clothing from jewellery to hats to shoes & clothes.
Grin depending on which entrance you came through this is the first shop on the ground floor. Stocking a mixture of clothing from skater wear to gothic to punk to ethnic alongside lots of bags, novelty items & shoes.

Identity on the ground floor, just past grin or the first shop depending on the entrance you came through. Stocking mostly punk & skater wear.
Other shops you may like but that we couldn't photograph include: Vintage to fetish on the 1st floor stocking of course fetish wear from corsets to latex & pvc alongside gothic clothing.
