City feature: Leeds
Infamous for the corn exchange holding several alternative shops but you can also find lots of other hidden gems throughout the city.
Also home to one of the biggest alternative night’s around the Wendyhouse as well as Black sheep & Black veil, Leeds has quite a surprisingly huge goth scene. So alt fashion went to investigate the shopping side to the area.

The corn exchange is huge with two floors of shops and a basement cafe.

On the first floor you can find two grin shops, one selling clothes including living dead souls, hell bunny and some very nice pink leopard skin wristbands with studs. The other grin shop sold bags, candles and the same sort of novelty stuff that you can find at grin in Manchester.

Alongside hippy potter mouse selling laughing vampire clothes and also pirate shirts for men, nomads velvet boned corsets and long skirts and some great hoodies by strangeways with purple backprints of upside down bats and lace up corset tops also by strangeways; they had a nice range of candles and incense too.

Culture vulture sells hello kitty tin lunch boxes and bags, and my little pony stuff. Alongside whips & fetish outfits. Lastly the condom shop sells a selection of pvc outfits.

Outside the corn exchange you can find several shops including Class act emporium, 5 market buildings which has a great range of corsets and net skirts, they will make the skirts to order and its only £2 for post. (email them here)

Next to class act is bling bling with loads of really nice gothic jewllery. They had some lovely crosses.

Soho’s on kirkgate has death kitty clothes, new rocks and some very nice stripy baby gros for gothic babies..a very friendly shop assistant too!

Lastly Hellraiser on kirkgate was more metal goth and they had underground boots, tuk shoes, some gothic clothing as well as model figures like the crow.
