City feature: Birmingham
Birmingham has a mixed alternative scene with a heavier empathsis on the goth & rock side through brumgoth & brum rock society
Birminghams alternative shops are quite varied from the well known Oasis holding a mixture of small shops inside to other shops selling a mixture of styles from vintage to boutique to cyber and gothic.
Birmingham as you'd imagine is home to quite a few alternative nights & clubs too. You can find clubs such as Edwards no.8, Snobs, The barfly and 9 bar. Alongside nights such as Reanimator, Scarlet & Subculture.
I took to the streets of Birmingham to document the alternative scene.
Oasis, Corporation street

Oasis is home to several small shops on 5 floors catering for alternative tastes. You can find a mixture of items from gothic to punk clothing, footwear, jewellery, band merchandise & more. There are two entrances to Oasis one is inside the market and the second is on Corporation street.
Editions, Dalton way
This is next to the market entrance for Oasis. They sell mostly punk clothing including Collectif and Phaze clothing.
Psiclone, Corporation street.
Psiclone specialize in cyber clothing stocking items from the likes of Battery organic, Gobbolino, Couch & there own branded items.
Disorder, Needless alley

Disorder did specialise in gothic & cyber clothing but is now an alternative boutique, selling mostly men's clothing ranging from some cyber items to alternative clothing and artwork.
Cult clothing, Temple street.
A more pricey alternative shop aimed at the more retro and alternative market from t-shirts to bags and kitsch items.
Yoyo, Ethel street.

Selling vintage clothing mostly alongside niche retro & alternative clothing.
Cocoon, High street.
Specialises in fetish and gothic clothing alongside 'unmentionables'.
