City feature: York
York, not too unlike Chester is also known for its walls alongside its infamous ghost walks around the city. Set in the North east & only a stretch away from Leeds, York has quite a diverse alternative scene.
With a selection of clubs; Fibbers, Cert 18, Ziggy痴 & The junction & a handful of staple nights; Darklands, Prophecy & Blackout.
York has a selection of well-known & diverse alternative shops in the area too so you can indulge in some spookiness & shop too.

Starting at Walmgate you can find Vamps, stocked to the brim with clothing for gothic & punk tastes.

Inside you値l find brands such as Collectif, Phaze, Criminal damage & Snobz alongside local brand Cute and evil. As well as spooky dolls, shoes,

zines & accessories.
Further down the street & on to Whip-ma-whop-ma-gate you値l find Exit , if alternative & skater gear is your area it痴 in here. With some more couture brands such as Harajuku lovers & Famous stars & straps in store.

Further down on to St Saviorgate you値l find Hellraiser, previously Kyro upstairs but you can still find band merch downstairs.

Carry on to Goodramgate & you値l find Classix, stocking alternative, punk & emo attire with brands such as Omen, Criminal damage, Death kitty, Necessary evil & Shock horror in stock, alongside some very nice skull seats in their shoe area!
Just a bit across the road is Travelling man for your comic book & spooky toy needs. Then further down you値l find Wooden horse with ethnic clothing from the likes of Nomads. Not to forget you can find plenty of alternative friendly shops in the city centre including our favourite Octopus! Home to kitsch & quirky gifts & jewellery.
